Hello, 2020!

I can’t believe 2019 has come and gone. To celebrate the new year, I’m introducing….The Blog! Here you’ll be able to find session galleries, Taylor Peevy Photography updates, and a small look into my life behind the lens. To start…here’s a recap of 2019!

In February, I had plans to travel to Haiti to do medical mission work. The night before I was supposed to fly out, I ended up receiving a call that I couldn’t go. Devastated doesn’t even come close to describing how I felt. At the last moment, I ended up in the Dominican Republic. I cried the entire flight there because I was so nervous, and then cried the whole flight home because I didn’t want to leave.

Almost as soon as I got back from the DR, we got a new dog….I kept telling Dan that I thought a golden retriever was a good idea. Somehow we ended up bringing home an 8 year old pitbull….named Ewok. He’s been a great fit with our yellow lab (and my best friend!), Halli.

March through May was essentially a whirlwind. In that time, my Maid of Honor threw a perfect Bridal Shower, we had our engagement photos taken, I got to baptize Dan, and then…we got married!

The week immediately after Dan was baptized….we finally got married! Dan and I met in December 2016, got engaged in December 2017, and got married in May 2019! You may not know this, but we had to change our wedding venue a month before our wedding. We wouldn’t change a thing – our day was absolutely perfect.

For my birthday in July, I decided to rebrand! I had been holding onto the sunflower logo for almost 5 years. I ultimately chose bees! I think we can ultimately agree that this is a much better fit.

In November, Dan and I finally went on our honeymoon! We were gifted a cruise to Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, the US Virgin Islands, and the Bahamas. We were so happy to be in the warmth, near the water, and to be able to sleep in!

In December, we celebrated our first married Christmas! And now….our first married New Year!

In between all of those big memories, we walked in a American Foundation for Suicide Prevention walk, won tickets to a Capitals game, won tickets to a Shinedown concert, saw my favorite band play for the 4th time, and I had the pleasure of photographing SO many families, weddings, engagements, and couples.

I can’t wait to see what 2020 brings. I’m looking forward to meeting new clients turned friends, seeing new places, and photographing new memories. Happy New Year!
